We are able to offer ultrasound imaging to assess damage and pathology. It enables us to see the structures within your foot and ankle. This can help to direct our treatment plan more definitively.
Ultrasound guided intervention
Guided injections allow the clinician to see the needle as it enters the body and moves through the tissues to the desired location. Guided injections assist with visual assurance that the medicine has been injected at the intended site to both the patient and clinician.
Many musculoskeletal conditions of the foot and ankle can be helped by the injection of medicines. This is directly into the affected tissue, steroid injections which help reduce the local inflammation. Typical foot conditions that can be helped are bursitis, tendonitis, neuromas, joint pain especially big toes and plantar fasciitis. This can offer immense short term relief and allow time for the longer term treatments to start working.
Our MSK specialist is qualified with a postgraduate diploma in clinical ultrasound, recognised by the Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE).
